Domestic large aircraft C919 obtained production license

The East China Regional Administration of Civil Aviation (ECARA) issued a production licence for the domestically produced large aircraft C919 to COMAC on the 29th. This marks that China has the ability to mass-produce and manufacture large passenger aircraft, which provides conditions for pulling the whole industry chain of civil aviation manufacturing.

C919 aircraft production licence validation review team by the Civil Aviation Administration of East China is responsible for the formation of a total of 15 people. The review team carried out quality system document review and on-site evaluation based on the airworthiness regulation Provisions on Qualification and Validation of Civil Aviation Products and Parts (CCAR-21-R4) and the airworthiness management procedure Procedures for Production Approval and Supervision (AP-21-AA-2019-31). The certification and validation work lasted 3 years and 8 months. The validation process has accumulated experience in quality control of civil aircraft products and provided best practice references for the improvement of airworthiness regulations and procedures.

The first C919 aircraft is expected to be delivered to China Eastern Airlines Group in December this year. The Civil Aviation Administration of East China will continue to supervise the production of the C919 aircraft and promote the high-quality development of the domestic civil aircraft industry.

The C919 aircraft is a 150-seat domestic large passenger aircraft designed, developed and produced by COMAC, and is also the second domestic jetliner to obtain a production licence from the CAAC after COMAC's ARJ21-700 aircraft, whose assembly and production base is located in Zhuqiao, Pudong, Shanghai.
